[INTERVIEW WITH NIGERIA TRIBUNE] - To excel in life, you must take a right decision — @PoiseClothing

Oluwatoyin Adeosun, popularly known as Poise, is one of the youngest men making waves in the Nigerian fashion industry. Toyin graduated from Lead City University, Ibadan, Oyo State, in 2014 and has won many awards. He spoke with Toyin komolafe on his sojourn into the fashion world among other issues. Excerpts:
How and when did your journey into fashion designing start?I started as early as age six with drawing and painting which I found so interesting.  I had a passion for creating beautiful pictures, so I was always thinking of ways of getting better in all I do which inspired me to start making cards.  I did that for a long time and by the time I got to SSS1, I moved to the phase of customising wear, footwear, belt, pendant, etc.  I started the sewing aspect when I made my graduation costume in SSS3. It was then that I realised that fashion is my passion.
What are the pains and gains of designing? There is a lot to fashion, there are seasons when you feel like the Industry sucks and you get frustrated but with time, I got to the conclusion that when  great challenges come, that means you are close to the limelight and as soon as the challenges are overcomed then you have  achieved great results.
Who are the people you have worked with?I have worked with a lot of great personalities, organisations and celebrities like ID Cabasa, Shola Allyson, Olamide, Davido, KFC, Popsony Petroleum, Omo Baba, HAIR ALIVE INDUSTRIES, GEORGIA, and U.S.A etc.
A lot of people get inspiration from different things, how do you get inspired? My greatest inspiration is from God. I also stay in a conducive environment, not noisy ones. I love it cool and calm with music at the background.
What other things  have you done before venturing into fashion designing? My life from the scratch has been Art, Fashion and Creative works.
What is the most important thing to you when it comes to work? One thing you will always find with me is my tape measure. Having my tape measure with me makes me perform effectively as a fashion designer because I can take necessary measurement anywhere and work on it when it’s needed.
What other things are you passionate about? I have other gifts but the major thing I am passionate about is making people look good which makes me a fashion designer.
What are the qualities that truly describe you?Poise, efficiency and fashionable
What decision did you make that made you the success you are today?Years back, I made the decision to make Poise Clothing “A major part of every wardrobe” and also make it a multinational corporation which will influence major world events in the interest of the people and also the Joy of this is that this is coming from Nigeria, Africa. So, whenever I think of all these, I want to work more and achieve greater results in a shorter time with less effort.
How would you describe yourself style wise?I am a creative person, and I love playing with colours which I do to interpret my mood or to suit the event. Basically, I love to look smart, clean and poise.
How would you access the fashion industry? The Nigerian fashion industry is doing great and I must give credit to the wonderful designers who are making the industry proud both here and in the Diaspora and also the several organisations and media outfits that have been organising fashion shows to showcase Nigerian Designers and our collections for the world to see and adopt our culture through fashion. I must give credit to our fathers in the industry like Modela and Nobel Afrik for the great performance; we will do better by God’s grace.
What are your hobbies?I love reading fashion related magazines and articles that can make me better.  I also like swimming and playing basket ball
How do you relax?I relax by listening to music but my mood usually determines the kind of music I listen to.

POISE CLOTHING UNVEIL A NEW LOGO

POISE CLOTHING UNVEIL A NEW LOGO

Poise Clothing unveil a new logo as a result of a re-branding process which took place few months back and involved highly skilled professionals from different fields in order to achieve the best result. Here we provide you with detailed information of how our new logo was derived and the reasons behind our choice of colors.

                                            TURQUOISE BLUE

This color is one of trust, honesty and loyalty. It is sincere, reserved and quiet. Turquoise helps to open the lines of communication between the heart and the spoken word. It presents as a friendly and happy color enjoying life.

In color psychology, turquoise controls and heals the emotions creating emotional balance and stability. In the process it can appear to be on an emotional roller coaster, up and down, until it balances itself.
From a color psychology perspective, blue is reliable and responsible. This color exhibits an inner security and confidence. You can rely on it to take control and do the right thing in difficult times. It has a need for order and direction in its life, including its living and work spaces.

This is a color that seeks peace and tranquility above everything else, promoting both physical and mental relaxation. It reduces stress, creating a sense of calmness, relaxation and order - we certainly feel a sense of calm if we lie on our backs and look into a bright blue cloudless sky. It slows the metabolism. The paler the blue the more freedom we feel.
In the meaning of colors, blue relates to one-to-one communication, especially communication using the voice - speaking the truth through verbal self-expression - it is the teacher, the public speaker.
The color blue is idealistic, enhancing self-expression and our ability to communicate our needs and wants. It inspires higher ideals.
Blue's wisdom comes from its higher level of intelligence, a spiritual perspective.
Blue is the color of the spirit, devotion and religious study. It enhances contemplation and prayer. On the other hand, blue's devotion can be to any cause or concept it believes in, including devotion to family or work.

Blue is conservative and predictable, a safe and non-threatening color, and the most universally liked color of all, probably because it is safe and non-threatening. At the same time blue is persistent and determined to succeed in whichever endeavors it pursues.
Blue is the helper, the rescuer, the friend in need. It's success is defined by the quality and quantity of its relationships. It is a giver, not a taker. It likes to build strong trusting relationships and becomes deeply hurt if that trust is betrayed.
Change is difficult for blue. It is inflexible and when faced with a new or different idea, it considers it, analyzes it, thinks it over slowly and then tries to make it fit its own acceptable version of reality.
Blue is nostalgic. It is a color that lives in the past, relating everything in the present and the future to experiences in the past.
I am ready to offer strict, yet sensual domination to all submissive and I genuinely enjoy my work. I respect all limits but actively explore and exploit them to completely fulfill my fantasies first before yours. I am very open and really interested in serious and worthy slave who knows that their rightful place is under my feet, to worship my body, ass and feet. I have various toys for pleasure and pains. The qualifications are for you to be very submissive and serious about your desires.

Blue Represents;
Communication: Blue relates to one-to-one verbal communication and self expression.
Peace and calm: The color blue induces calm and peace within us, particularly the deeper shades.

                                                       COLOUR GRAY

Colour Gray is detached, neutral, impartial and diplomatic.
From a color psychology perspective, gray is the color of compromise - being neither black nor white, it is the transition between two non-colors. The closer gray gets to black, the more dramatic it becomes. The closer it gets to silver or white, the more illuminating and lively it becomes.
Being both motionless, gray is solid and stable, creating a sense of calm and composure, relief from a chaotic world.
The color gray is subdued, quiet and reserved. It does not stimulate, energize, rejuvenate or excite.

In the meaning of colors, gray is elegant and formal.
Gray conforms - it is conventional, dependable and practical. It is a color of maturity and responsibility, associated with the gray hair of old age. It will never be the center of attention, the dynamic leader or the director - it is too safe and toned down.
It can stifle and depress energy but it is also the stable base from which the new and positive can come.
Gray is controlled. It has a steadying effect on other colors with which it comes into contact, toning down the stronger and brighter colors and illuminating the softer colors. Rarely is gray a perfect mix of black and white - it often has elements of other colors such as blue, green, pink, mauve or yellow within it which lift it and energize it.
Most people are indifferent to gray- it relates to the corporate worker in the gray suit - conservative, reliable, formal and independent.

Positive Traits of Gray

Positive keywords include: reliable, conservative, dignified, neutral, impartial, professional, mature, intelligent, classic, solid, stable, calming, reserved, elegant, formal and dependable.

Gray Represents:

Neutrality: gray is impartial and dispassionate, it doesn't take sides.
Compromise: it is the transition between two non-colors, neither black nor white. It takes the middle ground, neither one way nor the other.
Control: gray is reserved, quiet and conservative. It has a steadying effect on other colors around it.

Variations of the Color Gray

Light gray is soothing and calming. It enlightens, saves and rescues those in difficult life situations.
